Syriac Tune:
---|---|
Christ, [you] who appeared from the blessed Daughter of David and has saved Your flock from the straying of idolatry, bless us, keep us united, and hide us under Your shadow [Ps 17:8; 36:8; 57:2; 63:8; 91:4], Son of the Divine Being.
Show us the upright way of life, and we shall confess Your mercy and Your strength continually. With our mouths, we shall continuously raise glory to the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, one Lordship.
Make every believing Bishop in communion with this offering an heir to the bridal chamber of the kingdom. Through it, may they receive forgiveness of debts and transgression. Through it, may they be delivered from condemnation before [the throne of] justice.
Place their departed in the resting place of the kingdom, and make them recline at the table filled with delights. May the mouths that have eaten Your body and [have drunk] Your blood in faith not be condemned in the tribunal of judgment.
Lord, cause to pass from this church every rebellion, and from every chrismated nation war and devastation, [swarms of] crawling locusts, parching heat and hail, every evil thing, famine and thirst, terrible deaths, and tumults.
Instill within [the Church] peace and love in perpetuity. Be for her a bulwark, and guard her gates with watchful care. May envy, wrath, and sorcery not enter her. Adorn the priests, your servants, with holiness.
Enlighten the deacons with teaching. Uphold the elders and clothe them with fortitude. Keep also the youth safe from evil things. Confer on husbands and wives compassion.
Bless them, and perfect them in meekness, fill their lives with riches, plentitudes, and prosperity, supply them abundantly with every possession and also harvests, and remove from them every distress and every evil thing | ܒܰܪܶܟ ܐܶܢܘܽܢ ܘܰܓܡܘܽܪ ܐܶܢܘܽܢ ܒܰܡܫܰܝܢܘܽܬܳܐ ܃ ܡܠܺܝ ܥܘܽܡܪ̈ܰܝܗܘܽܢ ܥܘܽܬܪܳܐ ܘܣܰܒܥܳܐ ܘܟܰܗܺܝܢܘܽܬܳܐ ܀ ܫܰܪܬܰܚ ܐܶܢܘܽܢ ܟܽܠ ܩܶܢܝܳܢ̈ܶܐ ܘܳܐܦ ܥܰܠ̱̈ܠܳܬܳܐ ܃ ܘܰܐܪܚܶܩ ܡܶܢܗܘܽܢ ܟܽܠ ܥܳܩ̈ܳܬܳܐ ܘܟܽܠ ܒܺܝ̈ܫܳܬܳܐ ܀ |
through the prayers of the one who carried you in virginity, the virgin Mary, full of graces and holiness, of Saint John [the Baptist], the chaste and honorable son of the barren one (literally, son of bareness) of Saint Stephen, the very first in martyrdom, | ܒܰܨܠ̈ܰܘܳܬܳܐ ܕܗܳܝ ܕܰܛܥܶܢܬܳܟ ܒܰܒܬܘܽܠܘܽܬܳܐ ܃ ܒܬܘܽܠܬܳܐ ܡܰܪܝܰܡ ܡܰܠܝܰܬ ܫܘܽܦܪ̈ܶܐ ܕܩܰܕܺܝܫܘܽܬܳܐ ܀ ܘܡܳܪܝ ܝܘܽܚܰܢܳܢ ܒܬܘܽܠܳܐ ܙܰܗܝܳܐ ܒܰܪ ܥܰܩܪܘܽܬܳܐ ܃ ܘܡܳܪܝ ܐ̱ܣܛܶܦܰܢܘܽܣ ܪܺܝܫܳܐ ܩܰܕܡܳܐ ܕܰܒܣܳܗܕܘܽܬܳܐ ܀ |
also of Saint Maron, the honorable Abbot of the monastery, of Saint Ephrem, the chosen one, of those who gave us the model of the highest virtue, of the martyrs who cheerfully endured sufferings and torments, and of the holy ones who overcame the world with excellence.
With our mouths, we shall continuously raise glory to the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, one Lordship. Glory be to You, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, one [true] God, and may Your mercies be upon us always and forever. Amen.
