The good One, who brought everything into existence from nothing, |
placed for His service the Cherubim with many eyes and the Seraphim with six wings, | ܟܪ̈ܘܽܒܶܐ ܣܰܓܺܝܰܐܝ ܥܰܝ̈ܢܶܐ ܘܰܣܪ̈ܳܦܶܐ ܕܶܐܫܬܳܐ ܓܶܦܺܝ̈ܢ ܃ |
the Thrones and Dominions, and the fiery and spiritual Choirs.
He created the Church on earth in the likeness of the Church in heaven |
so that the Watchers and human beings might glorify His Lordship together.
He adorned her [the Church] with ranks of prophets, apostles, martyrs, confessors, |
orthodox teachers, the clergy of Truth, | ܘܡܰܠ̈ܦܳܢܶܐ ܬܪ̈ܺܝܨܰܝ ܫܘܽܒܚܳܐ ܘܰܡܟܰܗ̈ܢܳܢܶܐ ܕܰܫܪܳܪܳܐ ܀ |
monks and nuns, hermits, virgins, and ascetics | ܕܰܝܪ̈ܳܝܶܐ ܘܺܝܚܺܝܕܳܝ̈ܶܐ ܘܰܒ̈ܬܘܽܠܶܐ ܐܳܦ ܥܳܢܘܳܝ̈ܶܐ ܃ |
who obtained the crowns of victory.
He placed in her honorable priests so that they might raise incense for His honor, |
distribute His Body and Blood, and please His Divinity.
O high rank that the human race has attained, |
for the Watchers cannot look at him, but human beings receive Him.
O unspeakable Amazement whom the prophet called “Wonder” |
since the Lord of humanity humbled Himself and became a human being for the sake of human beings.
He endured suffering, even death, but He rose from the grave in amazement. |
He ascended in glory to heaven, sat at the right hand of His Father, |
sent His Holy Spirit upon His blessed disciples, | ܘܫܰܕܰܪ ܪܘܽܚܶܗ ܩܰܕܺܝܫܳܐ ܥܰܠ ܬܰܠܡܺܝ̈ܕܰܘܗ̱ܝ ܛܘܽܒܳܢ̈ܶܐ ܃ |
and is with us until the end [of time], according to what His mouth said to us.
You, Lord, managed these things for the sake of our human race, |
and although You are the Son of His Majesty, You lowered yourself to our feebleness.
Accept this offering from our sinful hands, |
be pleased with and have mercy on the Church and all her children.
Protect the living with Your cross and give rest to the deceased with Your grace |
through the supplications of Mary, Your mother, and the prayers of all Your Saints.
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, one true God, |
to You be glory, and Your mercy be upon us at every moment. Amen and Amen.
