Season of Great Lent: The First Weekday Cycle of Lent – (Maronite Divine Liturgy)

Syriac Melody:
The gates of paradise are opened through fasting, and the ones who fast enter and inherit the kingdom.
The bridal chamber [that is, the heavenly resting place] and kingdom are reserved for the ones who fast, and those in the truth fast sincerely.
Our Savior, may our fast be pleasing to You, and our prayer an acceptable offering.
